iPhone Users: Enjoy your "$560 brick?!"

In the ongoing battle between Apple and those who have successfully unlocked the iPhone, it was announced recently that this action could be extremely harmful to iPhone owners. Apple has announced that unlocking the iPhone could put you at risk of loosing the ability to download upgrades and new features. Although according to a company spokesperson, Apple is not currently taking action against those devices that have been unlocked.
To solve this crises, Apple announced that future editions of the iPhone will include a feature that disables the iPhone once new programming is downloaded. For example, the new edition to be released next week, enabling users to purchase music from iTunes using one single button, will be out of reach to unlocked phone unless you plan destroying it!
As Ben Wood, Director of CCS Insight research firm puts it, “you could find that you own a $560 brick.”
