Save Water

“We made from water every living thing” -  Al Anbiyaa (21:29) The Holy Quran.

So you don’t say no one told you. I have spoken about this topic twice already and will keep raising it again.

Before I left home this morning, I peeked out of the window before I chose which shoes to put on. Since the road was soaking wet, I thought I’ll just wear a water resistant pair. Just as I drove out of the neighborhood I noticed that the streets aren’t wet anymore. Turned out it wasn’t rain, rather it was the drivers and houseboys working on that road who were after the flood. As a result of droplets of rain last evening, our front lawns didn’t look pretty. So what’s better than washing off rain with water? Does it even sound funny? It doesn’t and it makes me feel sick.

We all take responsibility for the wasted water. Had we saved our resources and  used water and electricity conservatively, expats will not even dare to wash their hands twice a day. I do akcnowledge that it’s an educational issue for both the worker and household owner, but we have faith that we can change. Give it a shot, at least the thought of it.

Very well said and a great time to discuss. People forget we still live in a desert no matter what. The biggest risk and need of the hour is potable water which we are running out at an alarming rate. High time to think it over all again. Let us not steal the basic rights of our future generation which includes descent supply and stock of potable water.

One quick fix for water conservation is to not keep the tap open while you are shaving. either that or shave every other day instead of daily.
