I got this via email. The US embassy in Kuwait issued an official letter stating that “Abraaj Bottled water has tested positive for microbes and pollutants and is not considered safe for human consumption”. I hope this is not true because we all drink Abraaj water at our home. Click here to view the letter.
update A friend called the Embassy today and they told him that there was no such circulation although the letter looks authentic! Is it a publicity war?

abraaj is desalinated, its not natural water.
its like drinking water from the filter in your kitchen. considering how dirty the ocean is, i find drinking it pretty nasty, and i’m surprised at how many people drink it.
rawdatain, sohat, masafi , evian etc – are all natural mineral water.
abraaj is not.

hey fah..
well this is what i heard yesterday from a friend of mine that works in a prominent sporting facility that actually supplies their clientele with abraaj water and their facility’s logo:
after an outcry from the clientele / members of the continued provision of abraaj water my friend actually contacted abraaj. Abraaj assured him that their water was safe for human consumption and that the had received a Certificate from the Ministry of Health proving the same, which they sent to him.
What they think happened is that when they routinely sent their water to be tested by the Kuwaiti Institute of Scientific Research, the person that took the sample my have contaminated it for whatever reason and therefore initial reports began circulating about the unsafety of drinking abraaj water and just gained momentum from there.
i think that someone has been trying to sabotage abraaj, or at the very least there was some mix up somewhere – but this has greatly hurt the reputation of abraaj water – a kuwaiti water company that actually provides the lowest sodium water at an affordable price in kuwait!
i think it is up to us blogs to support them as whatever advertising campaign they do try to have to recover from the unfortunate mishap with just seem like damage control and not genuine.. whereas people will be more likely to believe it if it came from us.
i personally think that the American Embassy should issue a letter or whatever to say that Abraaj is actually safe as drinking water. And the MOH should actually print daily newspaper ads reporting the same, but hey that’s just my personal opinion.
(sorry fer extended msg)
drink Abraaj :D

Abraaj water is very safe, and its the best water in kuwait! People that started the rumor maybe had a goal or wanted to start a new water company who knows.. It has no microbes or bacterias. It’s been approved by NSF,USA which carries out annual surprise audits on behalf of IBWA and Abraaj Water is also awarded the prestigous of its high standard Quality Management System. to check-*http://www.abraajwater.com/AnalysisReport.html

I am registered with the American embassy and I always receive mail from them for the slightest reason, I got nothing regarding the Abraj issue. But just to be on the safe side, its better to stay away until the issue is cleared up.
