In the past two days we have witnessed some destructive and devastating scenes after the heavy rain that flooded parts of Kuwait. Many of you haven’t yet been to your beach houses and farms in southern or northern Kuwait yet, well hope for the best and expect the bad. The sun is out again today, but that does not rule out any of the forecasted showers tonight or even over the weekend.
I’ve came across this documents which was released by the American Red Cross, titled: Repairing Your Flooded Home, which offers safety tips and advice to restore your flooded property. The main tips we should all carefully note are: restore your utilities (fix piping and sewage), rebuild and floodproof your property (Sand Bags?), and prepare for the next flood. Have a look at the article here and make sure the next time it floods you spread out these 5 tips:
-Do not walk through flowing water.
-Do not drive through a flooded area.
-Turn off your electricity when you return home.
-Look before you step
-Be alert for gas leaks
Good luck and stay safe!

At Araa.com you share the news and most importantly the views. Your views aren’t heard except at the office or in the dewaniya. So shout-out: state your opinion about the news; be it politics, economics, or sports. A new feature I noticed was the ability to click on the corner of images to read a summary of the news item instead of opening the report in a new page.
Araa just got a facelift just like all beautiful ladies nowadays. Check her out. Araa.com!

Last week I proposed an idea: donate KD1 to the less fortunate whenever you are starving. I’m sure all of us were freezing this morning. Hidden under layers of warm clothes with heaters all around us when its only 8 degrees outdoors, we still feel it’s freezing. Nights of subzero weather conditions on the Syrian, Turkish, and Lebanese mountains where Syrian refugees reside; with no fuel for heaters and no winter garments to keep the kids warm.
Now this is a reason for you to do something about it. Every freezing morning in Kuwait, remember that someone else is almost dying. Here is a list of people who are collecting blankets and winter garments for your struggling Syrian sisters and brothers.
I got this as a forward:
Sura – Block 1 (Abdulla Al Mubarak Mosque) 99088874
Abdulla Al Salem – Block 1, St. Nisf Al Yousef, Ave. 14, House 35 (Fatima Mosque) 97888160
Al Qurain – Block 4, St. 4 (behind Fire station) 97853101
Farwaniya – Block 6, St 106 (behind Crown Plaza Hotel) 97970001
Jahra Al Oyoun – Block 4, St. 102 (opposite Zeinab High School) 97917484
Bayan – Block 2, St. 13 (opposite new CO-OP; between mosque & Boubyan Bank) 90974668
Fahaheel – Block 10, Coastal Road (next to Ahmadi Governorate Mosques Office) 99424347
Head Coordinator: Ebtisam 99442702
Another donor located in Nuzha Area will be sending out aid by the end of this week: 99033803

Apologies for the down-time. There has been an error in our servers which cost us a couple of days of being away from you. We’re back and hopefully we can fire all cylinders like we did a while back.

Chili’s has launched a splendid new menu! What surprised me more is the branches they had, I thought they were like 3-4 branches around Kuwait only. Found out that Avenues Mall, Gulf road Kuwait Towers, Al Bidaa’, Sharq Mall, AUM University, Al Salhiya, Al Dome Mall, Kuwait International Airport, Al Jahra, Al Manshar Mall,& Discovery Mall.
Added items to the menu as I understood are: Chili’s New Crispy Honey Chipotle Chicken Crisper. Chili’s New Flavored Ribs; they are being slowly smoked over Pecan Wood so they fall off the bone tender with a bold and savory taste that is hard to resist.
I do have Chili’s quiet often, so next time it’ll definitely be different!
